Pula Necklace from Botswana

Our Pula Necklace is made with beautiful coin brought back from a breathtaking Safari in Botswana. This heptagonal Pula coin shows a running zebra on one side and the national arms on the reverse.
The coat of arms of Botswana consists of a typical west-African shield. On the top portion of the shield are 3 cogwheels representing the industry. The three waves symbolise water and reminds the viewer of the motto of the nation: pula, which translates to "rain", but also good luck, and is the name of the nation's currency. At the bottom of the shield is the head of a bull, which symbolises the importance of cattle herding. The zebra on the right holds an ear of sorghum, an important crop in the nation. The zebra on the left holds a tusk of ivory, symbolic of the former ivory trade in Botswana.
Original Pula coin and 50cm silver chain, both plated in 5 microns of 18k gold.
