Tembo Necklace from Congo

Our Tembo necklace is one of a kind.

It is made with an ancient 1 Franc coin from Congo issued in 1947. No longer in circulation, this precious coin finds its beauty in it's embossed elephant.

On a symbolic level, the elephant is the chief of the forest and of the lands. Majestic animals, they are associated with power, physical strength and perseverance; a perfect symbol for people looking to regain control of their lives.  Known also for their loyalty, their ability to protect their family and their capacity to pass on their ancestral wisdom, they represent the values of compassion, kindness and tolerance.
