Flower Necklace from Japan

Brought back from a trip to Japan, the 50 Yen coin features beautiful chrysanthemum flowers on the obverse and "50" in arabic numerals on the reverse side of the coin.

The chrysanthemum in Japan represents fall and is often used as a floral offering or as a Buddhist flower. Its ornate bloom is also the emblem of the imperial family and appears on Japanese passports.

Original Japanese coin plated in 10 microns sterling silver and rhodium mounted on a 50cm sterling silver chain.
